Although Village Eye Care permanently closed July 2024 upon Dr. Cossari retirement, Optical Outfitters remains open.  Danielle Cossari Paulus relocated Optical Outfitters and can be reached at (631) 928-6401.  She is happy to assist you with all your optical needs.

Danielle Cossari Paulus continues to fit eyeglasses at Optical Outfitters in her new boutique located in Port Jefferson Village and still works with patients who have insurance with her in house plan that costs roughly the same out of pocket expense as before. My goal is to teach those that suffer from migraines, to help understand their specific set of symptoms, triggers, comorbid conditions, and preventive measures. Since few understand the interconnected relationship between symptoms, life style and the complex genetic nature of this disorder, I am excited to continue sharing this knowledge and perhaps improve lives.

A bit of historySome of you have been my patients for 48 years. I had the privilege of caring for you, your children and even your grandchildren. I began my practice as a pediatric ophthalmologist on Medical Drive. It grew into a family practice when I continued to follow my children into adulthood.  I was very fortunate when Dr. Jiri Mladek, my wonderful optometric associate, joined my practice. He examined both pediatric and adult patients and we moved to a larger office on North country Road for another decade. In an effort to provide our patients with quality eyeglasses with more customized fits, I partnered with my optician daughter Danielle to create Optical Outfitters. We designed the building on Barnum Ave in 1995 to accommodate both practices.  I was fortunate to have had many terrific staff members along the way. It has been the pleasure of my life to have had the opportunity to build and maintain a practice that revolved around patient’s needs.  I am also thrilled that Optical Outfitters will continue that tradition by providing excellent optical care in its new Port Jefferson location.
